What a task carries
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Title & description | Encrypted at rest, like all task content |
| Status | Drives the board column |
| Priority | Low · Medium · High |
| Assignee | Who is doing it |
| Due date | Feeds Timeline and the overdue signals |
| Item type | See below — changes how Nalaras treats it |
| Labels | Your own vocabulary, per project |
| Waiting on | A role or person this is blocked behind |
| Client visible | Whether it appears in the client portal |
Item types earn their keep
The type is not decoration — it changes how a task is surfaced:
- Feature — ordinary work.
- Bug — something broken.
- Blocker — stops other work. Appears in Blockers and drives project health.
- Decision — needs a call from someone. Tracked until answered, and can be sent to a client for sign-off.
- Flow change — a change to how the team works, not to the product.
Comments
Comments carry @mentions, which notify the person named. Internal comments are hidden from the client portal, so you can discuss freely on a task a client can otherwise see.
Client visibility
Every task has a client visible flag. Off means the client never sees it in the portal.
One limit worth knowing: if the project has outbound sync enabled to Trello or Notion, internal-only tasks are still pushed there. An external board is a second audience with its own access list. Check who can see that board before enabling outbound sync on a project with sensitive internal work.
Activity
Every change is recorded on the task with who and when — "marked … as In Progress", "updated the priority of …" — newest first. The project-wide version is Activity in the Main menu.
